Churachandpur-Behiang Tedim Road, a state highway is in a dilapidated condition, thereby causing hardships to the villagers of the adjoining villages.
Media investigations revealed that the state highway Tedim Road that connects with Indo-Myanmar village of Behiang and other villages lying in neighbouring country is in its worst condition.
Behiang village is located about 60 kilometres from Lamka (Churachandpur) town.
On the other hand, under 60-Singngat Assembly Constituency, Sangaikot TD Block is also facing severe hardships on daily basis because of poor road connectivity with Lamka town, according to a report.
Sangaikot TD Block under 60-Singngat Assembly Constituency is located about 22 Kilometres from Churachandpur district headquarter.
In Singngat Sub-division, government institutions like schools, heath care centres and an office of the SDO exist only in name sake, while a number of employees and teachers seldom report for duty due to bad road communication along Chura-Behiang state highway, the reports mentioned.
In Lungthul Government High School and Singngat Government High school, there is no teacher to teach Science, Hindi, and Mathematics while, the Computer class remains a distant dream for the students, the report quoting complaints from villagers said.
On the other hand, villagers have expressed strong resentment over the absence of any SDO office in the Sub-divisional headquarters, thereby hampering developmental activities in the areas.
