Follow health experts' advice: O Lukhoi

Thoubal, May 24 2021: Agriculture minister Oinam Lukhoi has stated that as there is no exact cure for Covid-19, the only way to prevent from contracting the virus is to strictly follow the guidelines and take the medicines approved by WHO, ICMR and health experts.

He made the statement while conducting an inspection of the precautionary measures being taken up against Covid-19 in Thoubal district on Monday.

Lukhoi, who is the minister in-charge of Thoubal district, said that the Medical Oxygen Plant being installed at Thoubal District Hospital will begin operation in a week's time.

The engineering team responsible for installing the plant is presently in the process of installing a medical oxygen plant in Churachandpur District Hospital after which they will take up the work for Thoubal District Hospital, he informed.

In connection with the inspection, the minister also held a meeting with Wangjing Tentha AC MLA Paonam Brojen, Thoubal DC Rangmei Rang Peter, SP Dr S Ibomcha, CMO Dr Y Nokul and other district level officers on the prevailing pandemic situation and other development projects, at the conference hall of DC Thoubal.
