BJP working hard to get absolute majority: CM Biren

The expectation of BJP winning 42 seats in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election is very high and the party is working hard to get absolute majority in the election to have its own government in the next term, stated chief minister N Biren Singh and stressed the need for having a stable BJP government in the state.
The chief minister was speaking during reception ceremony of Lilong MLA Y Antas Khan and intending candidate from Uripok AC Kh Raghumani held at BJP Manipur Pradesh office, Nityaipat Chuthek here on Tuesday, Both Antas Khan and retired IAS officer Kh Raghumani joined BJP Tuesday in the presence of BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi.
Addressing the gathering, CM Biren said that MLAs from other political parties are continuing to join BJP as they are satisfied with the performance of the BJP government at the Centre and the party led government in the state.
BJP has more than 30 MLAs at present and more than 10 intending candidates are expected to emerge victorious in the upcoming election, he said, adding that the expectation of BJP winning at least 42 seats in the upcoming election is a realistic goal.
In their brief addresses, president Sharda stated that joining of Antas Khan and Raghumani will strengthen the party while Raghumani revealed that he joined BJP as he is satisfied with the BJP led government's performance particularly in improving law & order situation of the state and the steps taken to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also promised to utilise experience he gained while serving as an IAS officer in bringing welfare for the people of the state at his level best.
Lilong MLA Y Antas Khan said that he was excited to re-join BJP after some years and said that he was BJYM functionary in the past.
The event was also attended by prominent BJP leaders from Uripok and Lilong ACs.
