Victims of BT Road fake encounter remembered

Imphal, July 23 2014: The 5th Death Anniversary of Rabina and Sanjit, who were killed by State police forces in a fake encounter incident at BT Road on July 23, 2009, was observed by the JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Thokchom Rabina and Chungkham Sanjit at Lamsang Keithel Community Hall, Imphal West today.

The observance function was attended by Th Iboyaima, president of Irabot Foundation Manipur; Rk Ranendrajit, editor of Freedom; Chirom Nabadip, retd Superintendent of Youth Affairs & Sport; Phulindro Konsam, co-ordinator of Apunba Lup; Sunil Karam, co-ordinator of Apunba Lup; L Memchoubi, president of Poirei Leimarol and Th Sakhi, president of AMKIL as Presidium Members.

Offering of floral tributes to photographs of the two victims and observing a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls were the main highlights of the observance function.
