Man dies during fire

Bpr, May 23 2018:
A man died during a house fire at Wangoo Naodakhong Awang Leikai under Kumbi police station, Bishnupur district, yesterday at around 9.30 pm.
According to our correspondent, the deceased, identified as Amom Kullababu (67), was sleeping inside the house when the incident happened.
The fire coincidentally occurred during a musical event which was organised at a spot not far from the house.
Only the few people were present at the area when the fire erupted, were not able to save the man as the rest of his family members and the neighbours had went to the musical event.
Later, Moirang Fire Service along with Kumbi police OC tried to control the fire but it was too late for the victim.
The deceased Amom Kullababu is survived by four sons and two daughters.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Speaking to media persons, Kullababu's son, A Deben said that his father used to work outside the State and he had come home only two days back.
On the day of the incident, his father wanted to take rest as he had recently returned from work and thus stayed at home.
He appealed the authorities concerned to set up a fire sub stations at remote areas so that such disasters could be tended to quickly.
Kumbi police has taken the body to RIMS for post mortem.
