Dr Surajkumar awarded scholarship for training in Japan

Imphal, March 23 2025: Institute of Liver and Digestive Sciences (ILDS) director Dr Nongthombam Surajkumar has been awarded scholarship to undergo advanced endoscopy training at the International Cancer Centre in Osaka, Japan.

According to a press release issued by administrative officer of the ILDS, Dr N Surajkumar was awarded the scholarship to attend the advanced endoscopy training in Japan from March 24 till 31.The Osaka centre is world-renowned in the field of advanced endoscopy which is vital in cancer research and treatment.

Expressing elation on being awarded the scholarship, Dr Surajkumar said that the knowledge he would gain during the training would be of great benefit for the people of Manipur and the medical community.

Dr Surajkumar is MD, DM (AIIMS, New Delhi) and also Berenson scholar in advanced endoscopy of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre, Harvard University.
