Christmas Night Carnival ends at Senapati

Christmas Night Carnival that began on December 16 at Senapati district headquarters culminated on Sunday.
The event was organised by Senapati district administration in collaboration with the Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA).
Religious events marking the birth Jesus Christ and other entertainment programmes marked the seven-day night carnival, during which food, decorative and other seasonal items made brisk sales.
The carnival also had around 29 artistes competing in solo singing and seven troupes vying for to honours in group dance competition.
As per the results of the solo singing and group dances declared by the organising committee on the last day, J Gomier Danii bagged the first place, Barnice Tao and Th Pane shared the second, and Daiziine DS finished third in the Solo Voice Hunt, while Star Girls, Lunar Leaps and The Beast occupied the top three slots in group dance competition.
The last day witnessed guest artistes from outside the district, various entertainment programmes and distribution of prizes to all the winners.
Speaking on the occasion, Senapati SDC Panii Ngaonii appealed to the public to contribute their might in check ing plastic pollution, making Senapati accident-free zone and using electricity judiciously.
While expressing gratitude to the SDSA, the SDC further called upon the district's denizens to make such an event more meaningful in the coming years.
