Elisa JAC to submit memo to PM

Pressing its demands for investigation into the unnatural death of Wangkhem Elisa after delivery at RIMS, the Joint action committee against the unnatural death of Wangkhem Elisa would forward a memorandum to the prime Minister of India for taking appropriate action.
In a public meeting held at the Keishampat Yumjao Lairembi Community hall here today, the JAC reiterated its demand for taking actions against Dr.Nabakishore in relation to the unnatural death of Elisa during institutional delivery, for instituting departmental enquiry on the incident, and for monitoring the standard of medical infrastructure available at RIMS and other state hospitals.
It also demanded the authority to take actions against the medical professionals who practice in private hospitals in spite of availing no-practicing allowance, and also to take actions against doctors and nurses who violate right to health.
Placing the ultimatum on the government to concede its demands within 7 days, the JAC has also decided to forward a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India in this regard.
During the public meeting held under the theme 'Right to life and Right to health', President of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi L.Memchoubi, President of Kuki Women Association Rose Mangshi, President of NIPCO Sunil Karam, President of Kangleipak Women Welfare Association AK Memcha and Editor of Naharolgi Thoudang Kh.
