Kalimai Mandir gets rainwater harvesting system

Imphal, March 21 2025:
A rainwater harvesting system was inaugurated at Kalimai Mandir under Ward No 24 of Sagolband assembly constituency by local MLA RK Imo Singh in the presence of corporators G Bino (WN/24) and RK Jiten Singh (WN/7), community leaders and local residents.
The installation at Kalimai Mandir follows the recent inauguration of similar systems at Kwakeithel Mayaikoibi (Ward No 10) and Sagolband Mabudhou Mantri Leikai (Ward No 7) .
Another system is slated for installation at Kakhulong (Ward No 24), according to a press release of the MLA's PRO.
During his address, MLA RK Imo emphasised the importance of rainwater harvesting in both water-scarce regions and areas with adequate water supply.

He highlighted the role of such systems in fostering sustainable development and longterm water conservation, benefiting both the present community and future generations.
In addition to water conservation efforts, the MLA provided updates on other developmental projects in the area.
He announced the completion of a double-storey multipurpose building at Babupara, near the DC Bungalow Office.
This community-driven project features a ground floor designated for Meira Paibi activities, while the upper floor will serve as office space.
The building is ready for handover and is scheduled for inauguration soon to ensure its prompt utilisation by the community, the release further said.
The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the constituency's commitment to continued infrastructural and environmental advancements.
Attendees expressed their appreciation for the MLA's efforts in fostering community welfare, sustainability, and infrastructure development, it added.
