Annual awards of NEBF distributed

The Northeast Biography Forum (NEBF) celebrated its foundation day on the theme of 'Hayengidamk Ngasigi Mirol' along with distributing its annual awards during a function held at the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy here on Saturday.
The programme was organised jointly by Panthoibi Cultural Research Centre for Performing Arts, Manipur.
Two books, titled 'Sanarik Pareng' and 'Sahitya Raas; Nongpok amasung Nongchup' written by RK Nayansana and Manipur University Assistant Prof Dr N Sanatomba respectively were also released on the occasion.
Presided over by NEBF chief patron and Manipur State Social Welfare Board chairperson and Agriculture ex-director RK Nayansana, the programme was attended by Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi national secretary Y Mahendra, Forum life member Dr Kh Chinglen, and ex-MLAs M Prithviraj and Md Amin Shah.
DMU's Dr Saratchandra Longjam shared his thoughts on the books released as a reviewer while Forum founder KB Ingaremba delivered the keynote speech and patron Dr Kiran Yendrebam spoke on the activities/works taken up the Forum till date.
As part of the programme, floral tributes were offered to the portraits of the deceased members of Panthoibi Cultural Research Centre for Performing Arts, Manipur, followed by presentation of identification papers to new members, life members and patron members of the Forum.
In her speech, RK Nayansana said that annual award distribution function was suspended previously due to the Covid pandemic.
She then spoke about his book 'Sanrik Pareng', stating that it is a collection of 17 short stories based on her life experiences and dedicated to her late son Jaydip Gurumayum.
Later, the annual cash award, regional award, state level award and na-tional/international awards were presented to prominent personalities.
