MU meet dissects NEP 2020

Mizoram University vice chancellor Professor KRS Samabasiva Rao has maintained that the National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020 is cent per cent perfect and it will ensure best education to the students.
He was speaking during the inaugural function of a national level workshop organised by Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, Manipur University on the theme of 'Implementation of NEP 2020: Way with Reference to Employability, Vocational Studies and Skill Development' at Manipur University court hall on Wednesday.
Professor KRS Samabasiva Rao, who attended the function as chief guest, said that NEP 2020 will absolutely benefit the students.
While noting that posers are being raised by colleges, principals, teachers, faculty members and vice chancellors on feasibility of the policy, he expressed confidence that as and when the policy is effectively implemented in educational institutions, many schools will surely get upgraded into teaching colleges and research institutes.
There are also areas where students before completing their college education can have the choices of pursuing other courses, he pointed out.
The inaugural function was also attended by Manipur University vice chancellor professor N Lokendra, University and Higher Education commissioner M Harekrishna, University Grants Commission New Delhi member Kiran Hazarika and Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, Manipur University director professor Ch Ibohal among others.
Two sessions were conducted on the topic 'Implementation of NEP 2020 in Higher Education' and 'Employability, Vocational Education and Skill Development through NEP 2020' during the national level workshop wherein renowned educationists also shared their views as resource persons.
