Three online services launched under e-municipality

Imphal, January 18 2022:
Three online services namely 'Booking and Payment of Desludging Tanks', 'Registration of Birth' and 'Registration of Death' were launched under e-municipality service as part of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) in a function held at City Convention Centre, here on Tuesday.
While launching the online services, MAHUD commissioner M Joy said that the three online municipal services will bring more transparency as they will remove the middlemen and save unreasonable expenses one has to pay to the middlemen.
It will save time and effort of citizens as well as service provider since it will work 24 X 7 .
It will also help in generating additional revenue to the government and there will be no difference over distance as any individual can apply from their homes.
People will no longer need to physically come to the office for some of these services, elaborated the commissioner.
He also stressed the need for implementation of online service for 'Registration of Shops and Establishment' as it will help the shop owners as well as to the public since urbanisation is rapidly expanding.
Besides, using a uniformed platform for all the registered shop's and establishments will help in quickly identifying shop owners in times of any issues, he said.
In his address, MAHUD director Robert Kshetrimayum emphasised on the importance of adopting digital technology and online services.
With the implementation of online services, pensioners are no longer required to stand in long queues in front of treasury offices and banks as had been the case in the past, he poiqted out.
The three online services can be availed from the Service Plus website www.serviceonline.gov.in.
Registration for new user should be done first to apply for the desired services.
Any citizen, who wants to avail the services, can create their account and apply for the services on offer.
Opening user's account not only helps in applications but also in knowing the service status.
The online services have been developed by National Informatics Centre, Manipur with funding from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
These online services have been developed by using the Service Plus Application of NIC, Delhi.
Senior technical director & SIO of NIC Manipur Laishram Shyamjit, MAHUD consultant Nepram Gitkumar and chief town planner/state mission director (AMRUT) Yumnam Narmada and representatives of urban local bodies were also present during the function organised by Town Planning Department, Later, commissioner Joy and director Robert distributed four-wheeler SUV (Bolero) to executive officers of different urban local bodies.
The distribution of official vehicles was taken up in phased manner and Tuesday's was the first.
The ULBs covered in Tuesday's distribution programme are Sikhong Sekmai, Yairipok, Wangjing Lamding, Lamsang, Kakching, Jiribam, Kakching Khunou and Andro municipal councils.
