Governor meets RS MP, IBSD officials, COCOMI team

Imphal, February 17 2025:
Rajya Sabha MP and titular king of Manipur Sanajaoba Leishemba, along with his family, called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan, here on Monday.
The meeting was part of the ongoing engagements of the Governor with key figures from the state, according to a statement issued by PRO, Raj Bhavan.
The statement informed that the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal, director (additional charge) Dr Nangocha Sharma also met the Governor, highlighting various research verticals and outreach activities undertaken by IBSD for the development of the bio-economy from bio-resources with a special focus on the northeast region.
He stated that apart from Manipur, IBSD also has centres in the north-eastern states, including Sikkim, Mizoram, and Meghalaya.
IBSD senior accounts officer O Bishan Singh, who was also present, elaborated on the institute's contributions in providing training to farmers, entrepreneurs, and students to promote startups in the region.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) coordinator Kh Athouba, along with six other members, also met Bhalla at Raj Bhavan, and submitted a memorandum highlighting key issues concerning the state while requesting him to take necessary steps in the interest of the people.
The Governor heard their concerns and urged them to cooperate with the government in the efforts to restore harmony in the state, the statement added.
