Injured man brought to Sekmai CHC dies

Imphal, September 15 2024:
An unidentified man brought for treatment to Sekmai CHC by some unknown persons passed away on Saturday.
The deceased is likely to be in his 30s, 5.6 feet in height, clad in a Khudei and wore a Salai Taret string on his right wrist.
According to a statement issued by Sekmai police station officer in-charge, some persons attired in camouflage uniforms, who came on a Bolero, brought the man on Saturday around 8 pm.
The man had several injury/bruised marks on his right arm, shoulder, legs, thigh, neck, and was experiencing nose bleeding.
As the doctors were busy preparing for ECG reading, the unknown persons who brought him fled the health centre.
During ECG screening, doctors could not experience any pulse and the man was declared brought dead at 8.35 pm.
The medical officer of the CHC filed a report with Sekmai PS consequently.
Based on the report, a case has been registered at Sekmai PS and the body deposited at RIMS mortuary for post mortem examination.
In case family members claim the body by September 18, it will be disposed of as per the law, the statement said.
