Khuraijam Athouba to attend UNHRC session

Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) spokesman Khuraijam Athouba will attend the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), currently underway at the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland.
In a release, COCOMI informed that Athouba will be representing the voice of indigenous people of the North-East India, specifically from Manipur, at the UNHRC session, and present interventions at important debates.
Additionally, he will attend meetings with dignitaries from some of the council's member states and international organisations, said the release, adding that International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) of Kangleipak has entrusted Athouba to raise the voice of the people of Manipur and cause awareness about human rights violations in the state with the hope that the international community will help in bringing peace and stability in the region.
The session began from February 26 and will conclude on April 5, the release added.
