Kakching, October 14 2024: District Health Society (DHS), Kakching, in collaboration with District Mental Health Programme (DMHP), Kakching, observed the 22nd World Suicide Prevention Day at Green Ground High School, Wangoo Laipham, on Monday.

The observance held under the theme "Changing the Narrative on Suicide with the call to action: Start the Conversation", is aimed at raising awareness about suicide prevention.

Addressing the gathering, chief medical officer and district mission director of National Health Mission, Kakching, Dr Thaodem Rajen elaborated on causes of suicidal thoughts, signs of depression, and ways to prevent suicide while DMHP DNO Dr Khangembam Gopeshwar had an interactive session with the students, in the presence of PHC Wangoo Laipham MO in-charge Dr L Inaocha and Green Ground High School headmaster S Ibobi.

The event had participation of 20 ASHA workers, PHC staff, and students, while gifts were presented to the students who provided correct answers during the interactive session.
