Sincerity must to bring development: MLA Ibomcha

Emphasising on the importance of sincerity in everything in one's life, Lamlai MLA and Manipur Handloom and Handicrafts Development Cooperation Limited (MHHDCL) chairman L Ibomcha has urged the public to be sincere in whatever they do by availing financial assistance from banks or any other financial institutions and repay the same in time in order to bring development in the society.
He was attending as chief guest of the inaugural function of a 25-day long vocational training course held at Top Chingtha GP Panchayat ghar community hall on Wednesday.
Social Amelioration Society Imphal and North Eastern Development Finance Cooperation Limited (NEDFi) are jointly organising the vocational training programme.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Ibomcha expressed confidence that the training will help improve the skills of the people of the surrounding area and enhance their income generation capability by exploring new livelihood opportunities.
While pointing out that after agriculture, hand loom and handicrafts are the two most important sectors that provide livelihood in any human society, he also stressed the need for working on new designs and bringing out quality products while adopting modern and scientific approaches by using new technologies.
He also informed that the government has taken a decision to use only Leirum for presenting to dignitaries in any government functions.
Moreover, the chief minister has initiated use of handloom and handicraft products in the offices and official residences of ministers and MLAs as well as department offices for furnishing and decorative purposes.
The initiative along with others will give a boost to the handloom and handicraft sectors, he said, while urging the public to contribute their mote in the promotion of local handloom and handicraft products as well.
The chairman also spoke about the various initiatives taken up by the state and central government for promoting handloom and handicraft products in the national and international markets.
Meanwhile, Social Amelioration Society (SAS) chief operating officer Akbar Khan said that the training programme has been organised with the objective to improve the skills of the people of the area in terms of tailoring so that they could find new livelihood opportunities.
NEDFi CMD PV SLN Murty, Babina Group of Companies CMD Dr Thangjam Dhabali, Tulihal Zilla Parishad member and BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary Kongbam Inaocha and Top Chingtha GP pradhan Yumnam Tomba also attended the inaugural function of the training programme.
