Thoubal, December 13 2024:
Private Schools Development Council (PSDC), Thoubal has asked the government to take appropriate action against unrecognised schools operating in the district, failing which the Council will form own task force and carry out inspections.
Addressing the media at Peace and Freedom Academy, here on Thursday, PSDC secretary Jotin Salam Jotin drew the attention of the ZEO concerned to surge in unrecognised schools, and possible adverse impact to recognised educational institutions.
He also urged the central and state governments to resolve the unrest situation in the state as continuation of violence has affected various sectors including education, with students unable to focus on their studies.
Further appealing to the government not to resort to closure of educational institutions as and when issues crop up, he also stressed the need for providing internet facilities to schools for academic purposes in case of suspension of internet service.
Jotin also opined that academic activities should be permitted in districts where no disturbance is reported, while calling upon CSOs, student organisations and clubs not to involve students in agitations.
The press meet was also attended by other PSDC members.
