KDC celebrates Golden Jubilee

Kapaam Development Club (KDC) celebrated its Golden Jubilee, marking its 50th year, at Kapaam village, Chandel district with much pomp and splendour on Wednesday.
The programme, held under the theme 'Youth: Pioneers of Sustainable Progress', was attended by Chandel additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Md Firoz Khan, Kapaam Village Authority (KVA) chief/chairman Sb Borpha Moyon, MSME Promotion Council of India (PCI) deputy vice-chairperson and in-charge Manipur & Nagaland Temuidou Makun-ga as presidium members.
As part of the event, Md Firoz unveiled the KDC Golden Jubilee monolith with Kapaam Baptist Church pastor reverend Dr Adoreson Khartu conducting the blessing ceremony.
The function commenced with hoisting of KDC flag by KVA chairman Sb Borpha Moyon.
The attendees also observed a one-minute silence in memory of past members of KDC.
A souvenir was also released by MSME PCI deputy vice-chairperson Temuidou Makunga, while mementos were presented to present KDC office bearers along with noted personalities.
KDC former president Cr Eddie delivered the keynote address of the celebration with cultural troupes of Khungjuur Youth Club; Ringhow Foundation Music School, Kapaam; Chumbang Youth Club; Kapaam Taekwondo Academy; Chara Combat Academy, Kapaam; Union Model High School, Kapaam; and Penaching Youth Development Club presenting cultural song and dances, taekwondo and self-defence demonstrations.
The event was also attended by village chiefs, officials, pastors, church leaders and leaders of various youth clubs.
