CCpur CMO conducts spot enquiry

After 17 students of Angel's Place, Bungmual tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, CMO Churachandpur Dr Vumchinpau Tonsing and his team visited the orphanage on Thursday and conducted spot enquiry.
The team provided requisite medicines including some pulse oximeters after assessing conditions of all the 17 students.
Two of the students from the home are studying at Rayburn High School and their classmates numbering 88 students in section C & G will be tested for COVID-19 on November 15 at CMO office campus, Dr Vumchinpau informed media persons during an interaction on Friday.
He also said that Hermon School, Bungmual where rest of the COVID-19 positive students study was found closed when visited and could do nothing.
According to the CMO, all the positive students are below 18 years of age and the matter has been taken very seriously by the government.
He also reminded that 17 students tested positive out of 168 students who underwent RAT tests.
He also said that a joint meeting was convened by DC Churachandpur from 3 pm on Thursday.
Participated by CMO & team, ZEO & team, SP CCpur and leaders of Private School Association, the meeting discussed issues arising out of the positivity of 17 students.
In this regard, DC Pawan Yadav has issued an order Friday after consulting all stakeholders regarding reopening of schools, colleges from class 9 and above.
The order said that there shall be no physical class for students below class IX.
Reopening of schools, colleges and other educational institutions shall be subject to observance of SOP guidelines issued by health department, the order said.
The order emphasised that as per SOP that attendance of students must not be enforced and shall be purely based on parental consent and teaching hours will be limited to 3 to 4 hours for both online and physical classes and no cultural or sports events will be permitted.
It also emphasised wearing of face mask by the students, teachers, staff arid stakeholders along with regular hand washing with soap and sanitizer.
It also said that schools, colleges and other educational institutions should provide isolation facilities and tie up with CMO Churachandpur in emergency case.
