Imphal, November 10 2024:
Apart from rejecting submission of the Solicitor General of India to the Supreme Court during a hearing on November 8 that the 'chief minister is meeting all Kuki MLAs and trying to bring peace', 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs have categorically termed the submission as a blatant lie, amounting to misleading the apex court.
In the a joint statement, the Kuki-Zo MLAs clarified that they had no meeting with chief minister N Biren Singh since May 3, 2023, nor have any intention to meet him in future as he is the mastermind of the violence and ethnic cleansing of Kuki-Zo people from Imphal valley.
The statement referred to the killing of one Zosangkim Hmar in a village under Jiribam district village on November 7 to assert that the 'pogrom' is continuing till date.
The MLAs also condemned the killing of Zosangkim Hmar and Solicitor General's unprofessional conduct of submitting arguments before the Supreme Court without cross checking the facts.
