109 Bn CRPF celebrates raising day

The 109 Bn CRPF celebrated its 32nd Raising day on Friday at its Mongsangei headquarters.
According to the commandant, the battalion was raised at GC CRPF Avadi and since then its troops deployed in various parts of the country like Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Mizoram, Assam.
The 109 Bn has been stationed in Manipur since May 5, 2008.Commandant Bal Krishna Ram, who led the gathering in paying homage to the martyred personnel and officers, eulogised the enthusiasm and dedication towards their duty by officers and men that have made the battalion what it is today.
CRPF, the country's largest paramilitary force is deeply committed and dedicated in serving the nation, he said.
The commandant also noted that the nation is extremely proud of CRPF's valour and courage and encouraged all officers and men of 109 Bn to continue doing the best with determination, dedication and confidence.
On the occasion, an Inter Coy Volleyball competition was organized with HQ Coy winning the trophy by defeating Rajbhavan team by 2-1 .
In the evening, a cultural programme was organised in the presence DIG M&N Sector Suresh Sharma, GC Imphal commandant Dinesh, Int M&N Sector 2-I/C Karowng Haopu, 143 Bn 2-I/C Akhilesh Kumar Yadav, 86 Bn, CRPF 2-I/C Deepak Kumar, Range Imphal 2-I/C Ramchandra Jat and M&N Sector DC Vinod Sawant.
Various Manipuri cultural programmes were also showcased such as Thougal Jagoi, Dhol Dholokcholom, Kabui Dance, Thang Ta, Sankirtana & Ras Leela presented by artistes of Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society.
In addition, a Bihu dance, Deshbhakti group dance and Bhangra dance were also presented by Jawans of 109 Bn.
Families of martyrs were also invited and honoured with presentation of gifts on the occasion.
