Movement on ILPS deliberated

Imphal, August 08 2015 : All Manipur Recognized Private Schools Welfare Association (AMRPSWA), Imphal organised a programme "A Joint Meeting on the ongoing movement of Inner Line Permit System in Manipur" at Gandhi Memorial Hall on Saturday.

The meet decided that all private schools in the State would extend support to the ongoing ILPS movement spearheaded by the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS).

AMRPSWA decided to close down all private educational institutes till August 15 and that these schools would resort to further course of action if the State Government fails to take any tangible step to introduce ILPS in the State within this period.

A memorandum would be submitted to the Manipur Government to exert pressure by August 15 on the same demand, the meet agreed.

Eminent economist Prof N Mohendro moderated the discourse.

He said Manipur needs changes and for this purpose, new ways have to be found out to fulfill people's aspiration.

Advocate Khwairakpam Tarunkumar, JCILPS co-convenor Ksh Somorendro, Modern College, Imphal Assistant Professor Rita, Prof Sadananda and JCILPS members Mutum Churamani and Doren Khagemba spoke on different topics during the meet.
