DC urges public support for healthy electoral roll

Thoubal, November 07 2024: Thoubal deputy commissioner A Subhas has called on the public for support and cooperation to ensure that the Annual Summary Revision of the photo electoral roll 2025 for Thoubal district, set to be released in January 2025, is a healthy one.

Addressing media persons at the mini secretariat office, on Thursday, Subash, who is also the district election officer, announced that an integrated draft electoral roll for the 2025 Annual Summary Revision of the photo electoral roll was released on October 28 with January 1, 2025 set as the qualifying date for the revision in the district.

Informing that the public may submit claims or objections to the draft electoral roll until November 28, during which changes or corrections to names and addresses can be made, he said that to facilitate public participation, the Election Commission of India will hold "Special Campaign Dates" on November 9, 10, 23, and 24 at all polling stations.

The campaign will provide an opportunity for individuals who cannot submit their claims online or visit the office in person to raise their objections or make claims.

All claims and objections will be reviewed and addressed at the ERO level by December 24, and the final electoral roll published on January 1, 2025.The DC also noted that the total number of voters currently enrolled in the Thoubal district stands at 2,04,987.A Subash further stated that to ensure the electoral roll for Thoubal district remains comprehensive and inclusive, individuals who turned 18 on April 1, July 1, or October 1 may submit enrolment forms for inclusion in the next electoral roll.
