Imphal, January 07 2025:
Observing that the Kangpokpi district administration has failed in its duties, the Indigenous Mothers' Association Haomee (IMAH) opined that dissolving Kangpokpi district and its re-amalgamation to its original areas within Senapati, Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, and Bishnupur districts would be most effective administrative approach.
In a release, IMAH president Dr Sanatampha Ra-jkumari stated that various armed groups are indulging in unlawful activities including extortion from vehicles, burning vehicles, and assaulting and harassing travellers on the National Highways.
"Despite being aware of the acts of Kukis, both the state and central governments remained silent as a mute spectator thereby giving a freehand to them," she denounced, while adding that failure to take lawful actions against those vandalising Kangpokpi district police station and DC office is a sign of utter failure of administration.
"So, it would be the most effective approach to dissolve Kangpokpi district and re-organise it to its former status falling under areas within Senapati, Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal and Bishnupur districts," she added.
