Imphal, December 04 2024:
A public meet of Meitei-Pangal community of Kshetrigao AC convened Tuesday at ABA ground strongly condemned handing over of four members of Arambai Tenggol to police and resolved to support Arambai Tenggol's campaigns against drugs and anti-social elements.
After the public meet organised by Kshetrigao Meitei-Pangal United Clubs (KMPUC), the apex body of 17 clubs of Kshetrigao AC, spokesperson SA Mallik told media persons that KMPUC strongly condemns apprehending of four members of Arambai Tenggol who came in the jurisdictional areas of YOVA and YADA as part of organisation's anti-drug campaign and handing over them to police.
While informing that KMPUC fully supports Arambai Tenggol's efforts to uproot drugs and anti-social elements and the same support will also be rendered to any organisation carrying out such campaigns, Mallik said KMPUC too has been launching drives against drug smugglers and abusers as well as anti-social elements.
Deeply concerned over spread of rumours over the incident occurred within the jurisdictional areas of YOVA and YADA, Mallik said the December 1 incident happened due to handiwork of some individuals and it was very unfortunate that some people tried to strain the healthy relationship between the Meetei and Meitei-Pangal communities.
He then appealed those spreading rumours to stop their nefarious activities.
