Senapati, September 04 2024:
Phaibung (SP) Road Development Committee, Senapati district has written to Naga People's Organisation (NPO), the apex civil societies of Senapati district, to intervene on the completely neglected NLCPR project-road construction work.
The committee sought NPO's help and support to bring justice to the delayed and neglected Senapati-Phaibung road and even submitted a letter to NPO, stating that the road linking TNK Senapati village along NH- 2 and Tadubi-Ukhrul road at Phaibung Khullen village is 128.90km long.
Construction work was awarded to the 25 BRTF by the Government of Manipur in 2001 in the presence of chairmen of 18 adjacept villages and headmen with an MoU signed for expeditious and quality construction of the road stretch.
It was agreed upon that the 25 BRTF will complete the road construction work at the earliest and hand over to state government.
Accordingly, 25 BRTF started the work from 2002 from both the directions.
However, even after 21 years, the road remains incomplete nor any repair work initiated till date.
People of 18 villages have been requesting both the government of Manipur and 25 BRTF to expedite the construction but to no avail till date.
