Mass vaccination programme conducted

Imphal, August 04 2021: Social Upliftment Club (SUC), Wangkhei Pukhri Mapal, Makha Leirak organised a mass vaccination programme under the aegis of Imphal East District Vaccination Team at the locality on Wednesday, In a release, SUC publicity secretary Leimapokpam Tikendra informed that the Vaccination programme was led by medfcal officer Dr Toijam Robita Devi and 225 people were inoculated against Covid 19 .

A similar mass vaccination camp was also organised jointly by District Health Society, Kakching and Kakching Zilla Parishad up-adhyaksha Md Nazimuddin and local Covid Task Force under the aegis of Kakching MLA M Rameshwar at Royal Brighter Academy, Sora Ching Wangma on Wednesday.

During the camp which was personally monitored by the MLA and Kakching ZP up-adhyaksha, many people got vaccinated by PHC Pallel vaccination team led by it's MO in-charge Dr Khangembam Gopeshore.

It may be mentioned here that MLA Rameshwar with the help of local administration, religious leaders and local clubs has been facilitating conduct of frequent vaccination camps in Sora area due to low rate of vaccination.

So far, 1800 people out of 4000 eligible persons have been have vaccinated.

Meanwnile, in continuation of the vaccination drive being organised in different parts of Thongju AC, a mass vaccination programme was held at Rising Sun Club, Thongju Part II on Wednesday during which 351 people received Covid vaccine.

Speaking on the occasion, works minister Th Biswajit thanked Gram Panchayat pradhans, members, frontline workers and volunteers of local clubs in the constituency for extending their support to the drive.

During the programme, he also distributed edibles to people who turned up for vaccination.
