Novel, short-story book released

Imphal, September 03 2014:
'Phidam Khul', a novel based on ill effects of drugs written by Chingsubam Khumanleima and a short-story book titled 'Meitei Pokpi Lamdam' written by Sagolsem Enaocha Mangang were released by Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai at the office of Pandam here on Wednesday.
The two books are the first publications of Luwang Printers.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister AK Mirabai, who attended the book releasing function as chief guest, conceded that the attempt of writers to give valuable messages to the people on various issues pertaining to the State through their books is priceless.
She asserted that books which are well-written will remain forever.
She further said that people particularly youngsters would know the effects of drugs to human health as well as to the society by reading important books like 'Phidam Khul' .
Books can change life of a person and shape the society through its sophisticatedly written words, the Minister added.
The book releasing function was also attended by A Mobi, president of Editors' Guild and Ph Rajendra, Deputy Director, Department of Agriculture as President and Guest of Honor respectively.
