MLA distributes looms to women weavers

Imphal, August 03 2024: Lamlai MLA Khongbantabam Ibomcha distributed looms and other weaving equipment to 1000 women weavers of his assembly constituency under the Mega Handloom Cluster, on Saturday.

Speaking during the distribution event held at his Nongada residence, MLA Ibomcha said that it is our fundamental duty to enhance the economic status of women.

There can be progress in the society only when the economic conditions of women are improved.

To achieve this goal, the loom distribution initiative has been designed to help women develop their economic opportunities, he said, while assuring similar programmes aimed at boosting women's economic status-would continue.

The MLA further stated that everyone has a crucial role to play in finding a peaceful resolution to the current crisis in the state.

There is the need to put forth our best efforts to recover the time lost due to the crisis, he said.

He also highlighted that development can be possible only when we achieve economic self-sufficiency.

The function was also attended by BJP Lamlai Mandal president L Shyam, BJP Imphal East vice president Ph Khomdonbi and administrative committee representatives.
