MLA Erabot accuses BJP of bribery in issuing ticket

Wangkhei MLA and NPP candidate for the upcoming assembly election Yumkham Erabot has accused the BJP of taking bribe money amounting to several crores of rupees from among the ticket seekers.
Attending an election campaign meeting held at Citizens' Club, Soibam Leikai ground on Thursday, Erabot said that BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary K Sarat, who was denied BJP ticket, alleged that the person who received the BJP ticket had paid Rs 2 crore.
Moreover, the BJP candidate for Nungba assembly constituency is a prime accused in a multi-crore corruption case and the court had already issued instruction to the authority concerned for investigation and take up necessary actions against him, Erabot said and further claimed about report of BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda recently pre-booking a high-end car worth around Rs 60 crore from a showroom located in Silchar.
She is also building a palatial house and the public know where that money come from, the MLA said.
On seeing the BJP central leaders visiting the state frequently, he thought that the party would be sincere in selecting candidates but all of those leaders have now gone silent, Erabot added.
Recalling how India Today honoured him with Hero of Manipur title for bringing back stranded trucks from Jiribam when the highway remained closed for over three months by NSCN-IM, Erabot said that he had never done anything that would compromise his integrity and image.
But still, some are desperate in showing him as an incompetent leader and he feels sorry for them, he added.
