Tamenglong, July 02 2015 : District Social Welfare Officer,Tamenglong has been distributing pensions to old aged since June 25 at the Treasury Office complex Tamenglong.Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, District Social Welfare Officer Tamenglong,N Jotish said that there are 2753 beneficiaries under Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pensioner (IGNOAP) at the age between 60-79 and 498 beneficiaries for 80 year old and above.Whether dead or alive, the District Social Welfare Officer Tamenglong is distributing the entitlement under the scheme to the beneficiaries, he said.

"Office will verify whether the pensioner is dead or alive after distributing the money and pensioner will get new card after few months.For this we are collecting Xerox copy of EPIC, bank account documents and photo passport sizes", Jotish added.

One pensioner thanked the government and particularly the district social welfare department for assisting the old aged.
