Bishnupur, July 28 2019: To maintain cleanliness, Bishnupur Keithel authority, District Hospital and District Police jointly organised a cleanliness drive at Bishnupur Keithel and areas around it Sunday.

The drive was led by SP Bishnupur Hopson Sapam.

The drive was conducted to spread awareness about importance of cleanliness.

It was also aimed at spreading awareness about various vector borne diseases such as Japanese Encephalitis and Dengue and their preventive measures, he said.

He also advised public and women vendors to maintain cleanliness at the market area to ensure healthy environment.

Around 300 police personnel including many police officers and volunteers of Pioneers Club Bishnupur took part in the drive.

Meanwhile, the cleanliness drive which started from July 10 under Nehru Yuba Kendra Sangathan Bishnupur organised by Green Brigade Toubul Unit Bishnupur is underway at Toubul, Bishnupur.

20 interns are participating in the 2nd edition of the Swachh Bharat Mission's Summer Internship programme.
