Imphal, October 26 2012:
The problem of not finding market for indigenous musical instruments of Kom community in the state is mainly because of not knowing how to play these musical instruments, opined Serto Armstrong Kom, a participant at the ongoing traditional musical instrument fabrication workshop at Sagolband Bijoy Govinda.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Serto Armstrong Kom of Khoirentak kom Village said that the community has only two traditional musical instruments namely Roshem and Serangler.
However, most of the younger generation does not know how to play these instruments.
That is why; it is hard to market for these musical instruments.

He also said that if the existing trend continues for some more decades, all the musical instruments of the community might be become extinct.
So, it is high time for the state government to establish a school where one can learn all the traditional musical instruments of Manipur.
