Imphal, November 25 2021:
Troops of Maram Battalion of Jwalamukhi Sector of IGAR (East) seized 95,000 WIY pills approximately worth Rs 3 crore at Mobile Vehicle Check Post in Tadubi on Thursday.
According to an AR statement, based on specific input, the troops established a Mobile Vehicle Check Post along NH-02 at Tadubi petrol pump.
During spot checking of vehicles, one Bolero bearing registration No MN 01S 7587 was halted.
On further checking, a large packet hidden inside the diesel tank was found containing 95,000 WIY pills.
The recovered items and the apprehended individuals have been handed over to Imphal Customs Office.
On the other-hand, a team of Narcotics Cell, Imphal West nabbed a man with 33 vials of Heroin from near Sagolband NRL oil pump on Thursday.
The nabbed man has been identified as Laishram Surjit (35) son of Shamu of Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi.
According to a police source, a tearn of Narcotics Cell checked a numberless Honda Dio coming from Wahengbam Leikai side towards Tera bazar at about 9.20 am Thursday near Sagolband NRL oil pump and recovered 33 vials of Heroin from the rider later identified as Laishram Surjit.
The nabbed man along with recovered Heroin has been handed over to Imphal police station for further necessary action, the source added.
