Imphal, July 25 2013: In all 59 people including seven civilians donated their blood during a day-long Voluntary Blood Donation Camp held successfully from 10.30 a.m.to 1.00 p.m.today at 6/8 Gorkha Rifle, Loktak Brigade under Red Shield Division, Ngaikhongkhunou.

The camp was jointly organised by Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, (AVBD), Bishnupur District Branch, 6/8 Gorkha Rifle, Department of Immunohaematology & Blood Transfusion, RIMS, Imphal in association with District AIDS Prevention & Control Unit (DAPCU), Bishnupur.

Sponsored by Manipur AIDS Control Society (MACS), Imphal & State Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC), Manipur, the camp was organised as a part of the month-long World Voluntary Blood Donor's Day observance being held under the slogan of "Give the gift of life: donate blood" .
