ZUF urges Naga groups to maintain peace

Imphal, November 24 2021:
Two cadres of ZUF (Kamson), who were apprehended by NSCN (IM) Assam Command and later safely released with the intervention of Zeliangrong Civil Society Organisations, have reportedly undertaken solemn pledge and declared to desist from all forms of anti-social activities detrimental to the social peace and tranquillity.
According to a statement issued by Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) ZB (AMN) president K Akhang, an undertaking was made on October 17, 2021 by ZUF (Kamson) cadres namely Namyineing Riame and Rajiandai who were apprehended by NSCN (IM) Assam Command.
Sensing the gravity of the situation and the crucial phase of peace process in the Naga history, the Zeliangrong Civil Society Organisations had intervened to secure safe release of the two ZUF cadres.
The statement also stressed that as peace and harmony is a prerequisite to build a vibrant society all communities and Naga political groups should endeavour to 'imbibe and accelerate' the principle of peaceful co-existence.
