Get vaccinated in time to prevent Covid: Robindro

Imphal, May 24 2021: Manipur Legislative Assembly deputy speaker and Mayang Imphal AC MLA K Robindro has appealed to the people of the constituency to get vaccinated as soon as possible so as to prevent themselves from contracting the infectious Covid-19 .

The MLA on Monday launched a temporary transportation service to ferry people of Mayang Imphal AC who are yet to get the Covid-19 jab to receive the same at the centre opened at Health and Wellness Centre PHC, Sekmaijin.

Speaking at the event, Robindro informed that in consideration of the inconveniences faced by the denizens in travelling from the AC which is located adjacent to Loktak AC, the transportation arrangement was made in consultation with the pradhan of Laphupat Tera Komlakhong GP to vaccinate the people of Laphupat Tera and Khordak.

So far, people above 45 years of age from 4 polling station 23/38-41, namely Laphupat Tera Hiyangthang, Laphupat Tera Mayai Leikai, Laphupat Tera Khunou and Khordak have been vaccinated, and similar steps will be taken up for other areas.

The vaccination drive for people of 18-44 years age group has also been taken up, he added.

Pointing out that the vaccine is free, the deputy speaker appealed to the people to get vaccinated and help in making Mayang Imphal Covid-free constituency.
