Thoubal, December 22 2021:
A one-day political conference of Laishram Domen, who is planning to contest the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election as National People's Party (NPP) candidate from Wangkhem AC was held at his residence in Thoubal Khunou on Wednesday.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar affirmed that NPP is a peace-loving national party, which has always stood for and will continue to stand for the women and young people.
He then remarked that the people seem to have been caught between the flags of Congress and BJP.
However, the election cannot be won by the number of flags.
NPP has always stood for unity and against slanderous tactics, he contended.
Urging all intending NPP candidates to campaign alongside with the people and prevent any violence; the deputy CM noted that the instances of poll violence associated with BJP or Congress are due to the weakening of the public trust upon the candidates and attempts to win the elections with money.
"NPP's goals are to improve the road and transport conditions, along with the sectors of education and health; providing safe drinking water, empowering the women and the young people and improving the rural area.
It is important to realise these goalsfor a better society and state.
All political parties will vow to put the afore-mentioned into action, but NPP will be the only party which can make it truly happen," he asserted.
Stating that NPP will fight for the entitled benefits and rights of the north east region; Joykumar said that development will not be possible if there is no unity.
NPP is for the people of north east and as such, it will solve the problems occurring in one's own territory.
It would be foolish to believe that an outsider could solve the issues, he said, while stating that to solve all the problems in the northeast states, a regional party should be at the helm of the state affairs.
Senior citizen Samadram Mangi, Wangkem AC intending NPP candidate Laishram Domen and other key members of NPP Wangkhem attended the conference.
