Thoubal, July 21 2024:
Rahamatun, wife of Md Mufijuddin of Lilong Turel Ahanbi, has condemned the abduction of her husband on July 13, subsequent demand for Rs 20 lakh, thrashing and levelling false allegation against him on social media.
She also appealed to CSOs of the state to investigate the incident and find out the truth.
Addressing the media at the residence of Mufijuddin on Sunday, Rahamatun expressed shock over allegations levelled against her husband by KCP-Nongdrenkhomba on a Facebook page 'Kangleipakki Arangba Thawanmichak' on July 16 .
She claimed that around 7:30 pm on July 13 her husband received a phone call from one Izaz alias Lambu, son of (late) Md Abdul Khalik of Lilong Yangbi Leikai asking him to corrie out of the house for having a talk which Mufijuddin declined as he was dead tired from working in the field.
But after getting repeated calls from Izaz, Mufijuddin left home who on being contacted after a while told her that he was near Kaleikhong oil pump.
As he did not return home till late in the night, she rang her husband but his phone was in switched off mode.
Rahamatun revealed that the next day she filed a missing report at Lilong police station and at 3:15 pm the same day received an SMS informing her husband is in the custody an armed group and asking to bring Rs 20 lakh by 5 pm.
She alleged that the armed group made false charges against her husband and repeatedly called her to bring the money.
However, as the family was not in a position to pay the said amount she feared the worst for her husband, the wife continued adding that she received a call from Lilong police station around 10:30 am on July 15 informing that her husband was at the station and to come and pick him up.
Rahamatun continued that when she and her family brought him back to home he was found brutally beaten with even skin of his private parts in rash.
Holding Izaz responsible for her husband's injuries and suffering, she appealed to the CSOs to probe the matter and if her husband is found guilty she will accept any punishment.
