BSF chief Ravi Gandhi visits state, reviews Ops scenario

Imphal, January 21 2025:
BSF, Eastern Command, Kolkata additional director general (ADG) Ravi Gandhi arrived in Imphal Monday on a two-day visit from January 20 to 21 and carried out a comprehensive review of Ops scenario and took stock of the operational preparedness of BSF in the wake of recent escalation of violence in Manipur.
In a release, BSF HQ PRO informed that on arrival at the Imphal Airport, the ADG was received by BSF M&C Frontier inspector general (IG) Sanjay Kumar Misra, SHQ BSF CI (Ops) Manipur deputy inspector general (DIG) and BSF M&C Frontier DIG Ahsan Shahedi.

The ADG, accompanied by senior officers, visited the 37th Battalion BSF THQ location at HIT College, Mayangkhang in Kangpokpi district, deployed along the NH-02 and interacted with BSF officers and troops, motivating them to continue their duties with utmost professionalism, the PRO informed, adding the ADG also called on the Governor, chief secretary and chief adviser of the state.
The PRO further informed that on January 21, the ADG visited the BSF units deployed on the hill top of Uyokching and Twiching, the fringe areas of Kangpokpi and Imphal East and interacted with officers and troops where he emphasised the importance of maintaining close coordination between the BSF and state authorities to ensure peace and security in the region.
He also commended the BSF personnel for their dedication and professionalism in carrying out their duties.
Later, the ADG arrived at the PHQ Babupara, Imphal, where a meeting was held with director general of police (DGP) Rajiv Singh.
The visit continued with a trip to the Thoubal DC office, Thoubal where the ADG along with senior officers, interacted with the available troops of Ad-hoc M&C- XIV Bn BSF and later visited the 3rd IRB camp in Thoubal district.
The ADG departed for Kolkata at around 4 pm on Tuesday, the PRO informed.
