Highest single day spike so far in July with 98 logged

Imphal, July 20 2022:
Manipur logged the single highest day spike in the month of July so far with 98 new cases taking the cumulative number of positive cases to 1,38,321 including 5016 Central security personnel.
The 98 cases were detected out of 1022 samples tested in the last 24 hours to peg the daily positivity rate at 9.6 percent 'which is a slight dip from the 9.8 percent TPR logged on July 19 .
Least vaccinated district Kangpokpi topped the daily positivity rate with 25 per-, cent as 2 out of the 8 samples tested returned positive results.
Pherzawl too topped the daily positivity rate with 25 percent as 3 out of 12 samples tested positive.
The positive cases were detected while testing at RIMS (1), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (94) .
The number of active cases is now 624 including 2 Central security personnel.
All the 98 cases are from amongst the civilians, and they are from Imphal (21), Imphal West Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (2), Jiribam 11), Ukhrul (3), Tamenglong (3) Pherzawl (3), Churachandpur (15) and Chandel (1) .
No deaths were reported in the last 24 hours and the toll remains unchanged at 2122 .
No new cases were reported from Kamjong (1 sample tested), Noney (1 sample tested), Senapati (20 samples tested) and Tengnoupal (2 samples tested).
Tests were conducted in all the 16 districts of the State in the last 24 hours.
Even as 98 new cases were logged, altogether 50 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours.
The 50 were dis charged form home isolation (44) and JNIMS (6).The recovery rate is 98.01 percent and the cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,35,475 including 5007 Central security personnel.
On July 19 a total of 8283 Covid dosage were adminis tered.
The total number of people who have received vaccination jabs is 30,30,754 including 12,75,506 second dose and 1.50.2 i 8 precautionary dose.
While Chandel is at the top of the vaccination table with 70.29 percent of the eligible population having received the second dose Kangpokpi comes at the bottom end with just 17.7 7 percent of the eligible folks receiving the second dose.
Both are hill districts is Out of the total 38 Covid beds at RIMS, 1 7 are occupied while 21 are unoccupied.
At JNIMS 36 beds out of 47 Covid beds available are occupied while 11 are unoccupied.
On July 19, a total of 86 D Type oxygen and 26 B Type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres.
