Many condemn Moreh incident

Imphal, August 19 2015:
Condemning the Moreh incident that occurred on Tuesday, several organizations have called for restoration of peace in the border town of Chandel district and appealed to the authorities to prevent such unwanted incidents in future.
All Manipur Social Reformation and Development Samaj, Apunba Manipur Kanba Lup, All Manipur Tammee Chingmee and EECHAL jointly organised a press meet on the Moreh incident on Wednesday at AMKIL's office, Keishampat.
AMKIL president Sakhi Leima condemned the Moreh incident and said that Manipuri nation will not be able to save from being extinct if the indigenous communities of the state do not respect each other.
While appealing to all the communities in the Moreh town to restore peace, Sakhi further said that KSO should immediately stop fueling communal tension between Kukis and Meeteis.
Meanwhile, Komrem Union, Northeast India condemned the violent incident in Moreh and appealed to all parties to forgive and forget each other in the spirit of brotherhood.
A statement signed by KRUM president Serto Lalkhomang Kom said that every community of Manipur should not react negatively against the ILPS movement since the ILPS movement is not only for a particular community.
While urging all to make positive suggestions to achieve the common goal, KRUM also appealed to the supporters of the movement to exercise restraint in order to avoid adverse effect on the movement.
All Manipur Christian Organisation and United NGOs Mission Manipur jointly held a meeting on Wednesday and urged the state govt for timely intervention to bring an amicable solution to the Moreh tension.
It was felt on the meeting that the unwanted incident in Moreh was occurred due to the communication gap among the people living in the town.
Condemning the violent incident in Moreh, Manipur People's Party said that those who tried to resist the ILPS rally in Moreh on Tuesday morning were non-Manipuris backed by Manipur Govt. Terming the incident as unfortunate, MPP said that those who are against ILPS are enemies of the people.
The public demand of ILPS in Manipur is not going against any particular community, so each and every indigenous community of the state should participate in the ongoing agitation, said a statement signed by party's publicity general secretary .
Meanwhile, all the Left Parties in Manipur � CPI, CPI(M), Forward Block, RSP, CPI (ML) Liberation held a joint meeting at Irabat Bhawan, Imphal on Wednesday presided over by CPI Manipur State Secretary Dr M Nara.
The joint meeting discussed the Moreh violent incident.
While praising all the civil society organisations and stakeholders for their timely intervention in restoring peace in the town, the meeting also appealed to all the communities of the state to stay away from false propagandas which could cause communal tension.
Thoubal District United Women's Development Organisation, Union of Social Upliftment, The Wal United Youth's Club, Students' Union Club also strongly condemned the unwanted Moreh violent incident and appealed to all the communities of the state to stay calm and restore peace in the border town of Manipur.
