37.73 Kgs of brown sugar seized, 2 held

Thoubal, July 18 2022: A team of Thoubal police commando arrested two individuals along with 3 7.73 kg of suspected brown sugar from Lilong Nungei Khunou today at around 6.15 pm.

The twp individuals identified as Moichingmayum Hasim (27), s/o Mohi of Lilong Nungei Khunou and Makakmayum Faruk (22), s/o M Ithem of Sikhong Thongthabi were apprehended during house to house search at the area while they were planning to process the brown sugar at the house belonging to Moichingmayum Hasim, said the police.

The seized suspected brown sugar in solid and paste form and the arrested individuals have been handed over to Lilong police station for further legal action.

Peddler arrested : A team of Imphal East Commando arrested a drug peddler yesterday along seven plastic vials containing suspected heroin powder.

The drug peddler identified as one Mansish Ahamed alias Manshbro (20), s/o Md Tamijur of Kshetri Awang Leikai in Imphal East district was arrested during random frisking and checking yesterday at around 8.20 pm.

A Vespa two wheeler was also seized from him.

The arrested individual revealed that he had been dealing drugs since the last 5-6 months and that he usually bought the drug from one D Wahid of Kshetri Awang Leikai and sold them to local drug abusers.

He has been handed over to Porompat police station along with the seized items for necessary legal actions.
