IRB post shifts due to Mapithel

Imphal, July 17 2015 : 4th IRB post located at Lamlai Khunou has been shifted to Yaingangpokpi police station on Friday due to the increasing water level as an effect of Mapithel dam.

All means of transportation or movements have been halted as water of Mapithel dam has been flooding the main roads of Lamlai Khunou.

4th IRB Jamadar Ratankumar said this development has necessitated the need to shift the IRB post.

One villager who was apparently disappointed with the Government said that the authorities have not provided any assistance so far.

He informed that some NGOs had helped the villagers to face the crisis.

There is no power since the water level between Chadong and Lamlai Khunou has risen above 100 meters, he added.

The villager have now appealed the State Government to provide immediate help to the dam affected villagers.
