HSE 2025 begins with 29,065 candidates in 112 centres

The Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) 2025, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (CoHSEM), commenced from Monday with 29,065 candidates across different streams.
Of these, 7,632 candidates are in the Arts stream, 20,893 in Science stream, and 540 in Commerce stream.
An official of the Education Department said that this year's number of examinees has declined compared to the previous year when 31,352 students took the exam.
The examination is being held at 112 centres across the state, with 38 in the hills and 74 in the valley.

To ensure a smooth and fair examination process, 48 three-member flying squads have been deployed to monitor the centres.
One notable aspect is the Evergreen School in Pallel, which is hosting only a single candidate for the examination.
In Moreh, 125 candidates are appearing, distributed across four centres, including 35 at Moreh Government Higher Secondary School and 80 at Moreh College, while nine students have been allotted centre at South East Manipur College, Komlathabi in Chandel district.
SENAPATI: A total of 1,355 candidates are appearing for the Class XII exams conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur in Senapati district across four exam centres, with 898 in the Arts stream, 318 in Science and 139 in Commerce.
Prior to the exam, Mt Pisgah Higher Secondary School exam centre OC Dr Hepuni Liba stated that mobile phones were strictly prohibited in the exam hall.
All candidates were thoroughly frisked before entering and strict measures were put in place to ensure the integrity of the exam.
The exam centre at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School hosts 146 candidates, with 83 in Arts and 24 in Science streams from Mt Pisgah Higher Secondary School, 17 in Science stream from Hills Academy of Science and 13 in Arts and 9 in Science streams from Lao Radiant Higher Secondary School.
The exam centre at Mt Pisgah Higher Secondary School accommodated 455 candidates, including 19 candidates (Arts) from Bethany Higher Secondary School; 39 (Arts) from New Life Higher Secondary School; 17 (Arts) from Purul Higher Secondary School; 166 (Arts), 171 (Science) and 41 (Commerce) candidates from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Senapati; along with two candidates (Arts) from Senapati Higher Secondary School.
The exam centre at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Maram, consists of 604 candidates, all from the school's own students, with 439 in Arts, 67 in Science and 98 in Commerce.
The exam centre at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Punanamei, Mao, consists of 150 candidates, including 41 candidates (Arts) from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Punanamei; 41 candidates (Arts) and 30 candidates (Science) from St Joseph Higher Secondary School, Tadubi; and 38 candidates (Arts) from Mt Gibeon Higher Secondary School, Tadubi.
Meanwhile, volunteers of Senapati District Students' Association visited the centres to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the examinations.
JIRIBAM: Students of Jiribam district appeared in their Class XII examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur on Monday at Jiribam and Borobekra higher secondary school centres.
On the first day in MIL subject, 57 students from Arts stream, 83 from Commerce and one student from Science stream, totalling 141, were enrolled for the exam at Jiribam Higher Secondary School.
However, two Students were marked as absent.
On the other hand, volunteers of COCOMI Students' Front, Jiribam inspected the examination process in the district.
