Sit-in demands modern library services

Imphal, November 15 2014 : Demanding the authorities concerned to put in place modern library services in Manipur College at the earliest, students of the college staged a sit-in-protest today.

Speaking to newspersons on sidelines of the protest, Yumnam Rebika, general secretary of Manipur College said that colleges in other States are equipped with librarian so that their students get modern library facilities but Manipur College is devoid of any librarian and assistant librarian, thereby effecting library services in the college.

She lamented that only a counter attendant and bookman are looking after library of the college which is not enough.

Saying that students of the colleges have urged the authorities concerned repeatedly to develop library of the college but no substantial steps have been taken up till date, she pointed out that books which are no more valid are kept in library of the college.
