Kakching, January 15 2022: Sahitya Seva Samiti (SSS) Kakching on Saturday celebrated its 55th foundation day at Library and Information Centre Kakching auditorium here along with distribution of the annual literature awards.

The programme was attended by DM University vice chancellor professor Nongmaithem Rajmuhon as chief guest, SSS president Kengba Yengkhom as president and Sahitya Akademi New Delhi Manipuri Language Advisory Board convener Nongmaithem Kirankumar.as guest of honour.

As part of the programme the presidium members handed over the literature awards including Yambem Mani Sahitya Mana 2021 to Budha Chingtham of Haobam Marak Chingtham Leikai, Imphal for his book 'Mukyetnaba Leela Mari'; Yendrembam Surlata Puraskar to Langoljam Birmangal alias Ibomcha of Dhaleshwar, Agartala, Tripura for his short story collection 'Ushil'; Chingkhu Moirangleima Kabirdas Mana to Okendro Khundongbam of Heirok Devi Mandop Leikai for his poetry anthology 'Ee Teiraba Thabal'; Kshetrimayum Chaoba Translation Award 2021 to Naorem Bidyasagar of Chaprou, Lakhipur sub-division, Cachar, Assam for his 'Angouba Chithi Kao' translated from Bengali to Manipuri; and Kshetri ongbi Nalini Devi Ningshing Mana to Moirangthem Sobita of Binakandi Part 1, Cachar, Assam for her short story book 'Thammoishu Marol Lolli' .

The awards sponsored by various persons included cash prize of Rs 10,000, citation and shawl each.
