Govt readies for Nupee Lal observance

Imphal, December 10 2024: As usual, the Government of Manipur will observe Nupee Lal Numit 2024 on December 12 to honour the heroic sacrifices of the women freedom fighters of the Nupee Lal movement.

The government has made necessary preparations for the commemoration at Nupee Lal Memorial Complex, and central hall of GP Women's College, Imphal.

Chief minister N Biren will attend the occasion as chief guest, with Oinam MLA Irengbam Nalini Devi, presiding over the event.

The programme will commence with a floral tribute to the departed freedom fighters, led by the CM followed by events at GP Women's College, including an opening song performed by artistes of Shri Shri Bal Mukanda Dev Government Music College Imphal, speeches by dignitaries, and Nupee Lal drama presented by the Nupee Lal Memorial Association Drama Party.

The event will conclude with closing song by artistes of the same music college.

Meanwhile, the government has invited the public to be part of the solemn observance in honour of the legacy of courage and determination of the Manipuri women.
