Imphal, October 10 2024: Court of CJM, Imphal West has granted bail to Yambem Laba and Khuraijam Dhanabir alias Tony, who were arrested on the charge of opening people's tribunal centre and carrying out collection activities of loaned fund illegally.

The two were produced before the court with police seeking 15-day judicial remand and dispose the bail applications filed by the accused.

As per report submitted by the investigating officer, the complainant alleged Dhanabir of using a sidearm of Yambem Laba and intimidating her and her husband while negotiating a loan at Laba's house on October 7 morning.

After hearing both sides, the court granted bail to the two accused on bail bond of Rs 1 lakh each along with surety bond of the same amount.

The court also directed the accused duo against contacting or intimidating the prosecution witness and to appear before the IO as and when required.

The court further directed the accused not to commit any offence during their bail period, destroy or attempt to destroy evidences related with the case, and not to leave the state without the approval of the court.
